You have the questions, we have the answers.

Why do we need Functional Healthcare?
  • Our society is experiencing a sharp increase in the number of people who suffer from complex, chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, mental illness, and autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis.
  • The system of medicine practiced by most physicians is oriented toward acute care, the diagnosis and treatment of trauma or illness that is of short duration and in need of urgent care, such as appendicitis or a broken leg.
  • Unfortunately, the acute-care approach to medicine lacks the proper methodology and tools for preventing and treating complex, chronic disease.
  • There’s a huge gap between research and the way doctors practice. The gap between emerging research in basic sciences and integration into medical practice is enormous—as long as 50 years— particularly in the area of complex, chronic illness.
  • Most physicians are not adequately trained to assess the underlying causes of complex, chronic disease and to apply strategies such as nutrition, diet, and exercise to both treat and prevent these illnesses in their patients.
How do Functional Health practitioners approach Functional Healthcare?

Your body is made up of more than one part. You have around 206 bones in your body and more than 640 muscles. Let’s add all of your organs, tendons, ligaments, nerves and other tissues to that number and we are talking about a LOT of parts.

We look at the body as a sum of its parts instead of through a microscope at just the area of pain. In doing this, it allows us to get a better idea of what is really causing the pain. Taking the extra time to look further than the area in question translates into a very important thing for you… results!

If I engage in Functional Healthcare Services, do I have to continue for the rest of my life?

You are welcome to continue treatment, but no, you do not have to. Patients often seek care initially to help them recover from an injury or because they have aches or pains. It’s important to continue care until you can maintain a level of health which you are comfortable with on your own. After that is accomplished, we recommend a routine schedule to help ensure that you maintain the highest level of health and functionality that you need.

 Does insurance cover Functional Healthcare?

It is important to us at Functional Health Care to make care available and affordable to every patient who wants it. Several insurance providers cover our services for a specific number of visits, but often do not cover the complete treatment. Because we have dealt with this for many years, we have established an in-house, flexible billing option to make functional health care available to those who do want it. Our office staff can walk you through the insurance and in-house options to ensure you can afford to receive the care you deserve to improve your health.
